The design of the Keen sofa—its geometry, its volume, its overall sensibility—speaks a clear message: one of elegant relaxation. Its stylistic language is direct, avoiding all unnecessary complications and distractions: the visual impression of the base, slightly raised from the ground, is reinforced by a powerful, uninterrupted running line. The rigorously fashioned, plush cushions and bold, cubistic armrests further enhance the effect. Each element serves the compelling stylistic logic of Keen, even as it communicates an immediate and natural sense of comfort.

Pure, simple and defined volumes in a well-pondered sense of rigour, friendly and pleasant. It creates architectural night atmospheres, very reassuring. A line in metal tubular underlines the refined and spontaneous taste of Keen.

The load-bearing frame is constructed of poplar heartwood and elm with additional connecting elements in chipboard panel. Dap joints unite the various parts of the frame with securing cylindrical dowels. The carefully selected wood is naturally seasoned for at least three years on the company’s premises. The seat webbing consists of elastic polypropylene and natural latex belts in two sizes, each with its own precisely defined elasticity. Belts 9 cm wide are fixed parallel to each other and perpendicularly to the length of Keen at 20% elasticity; these are interlaced by 5 cm wide belts at 80% elasticity. The framework is upholstered with contoured sheets of resilient, CFC-free polyurethane foam (density 75 kg/m3), covered with bonded plush and polyester wadding. The removable seat cushions, are available in two different options: completely in CFC-free polyurethane foam (density between 30 and 35 kg/m3); in feather (in the upper and frontal part of the cushion), and in CFC-free polyurethane foam (with density between 30 and 35 kg/m3) in the lower part of the cushion. The removable back cushions are completely feather filled. The support is made by a round tubular steel base (diameter 30 mm); moreover there is a back support in steel fixed to the frame. They are both available in two different finishes: either varnished in eight colours with epoxy powder paint or chromed. The top of the low tables is only available in saddle leather.

The headboard of the bed is constructed of melamine coated panel, while the lateral bands are constructed of poplar heartwood; the padding consists of sheets of resilient, CFC-free polyurethane foam (density 75 kg/m3 – with the exception of the frontal part of the headboard that has a density of 30 kg/m3) covered with bonded plush and polyester wadding. These elements are fixed to a steel frame varnished with epoxy power paint black colour where lean a wooden slatted base. The supports are chromed steel tubular.
