A sense of rigour, unsurpassed richness, and attention to detail.
The leather straps wrapped around the steel frame of the base convey a sturdy impression as they provide support to the strong-lined yet generous cushions; at the same time, the seating area appears to have levitated, lifted gently off from the floor below, as if the luminous line of the frame could somehow counteract the effects of mundane gravity. At the rear of the sofa, a chromed or painted horizontal steel plate both contributes to the chic visual styling and allows for the subtle positioning of the back cushions to create a wonderfully comfortable seating arrangement. The tables of Kristall are the natural extension of the collection, their steel frames supporting tops available in a wide variety of materials: leather and glass.
The metal chromed tubular frame is shut in a cage of saddle leather straps, rhythmical, modular and material rings. The headboard, padded with quilted swollen square tiles, gives a sense of orderly softness. Rigour and elegance are elective signs of Kristall.
The load-bearing frame is made by round tubular steel base (diameter 30 mm and thickness 4 mm), in which are fixed some stripes of saddle leather for aesthetic reason only. The seat webbing consists of elastic polypropylene and natural latex belts 5 cm wide and 12% elasticity; they are fixed to steel base and the parallel ones are interlaced with the perpendicular ones. Moreover they are visible under the seat cushions. The arms and the back frame are made by poplar heartwood with additional connecting elements in chipboard panel. The carefully selected wood is naturally seasoned for at least three years on the company’s premises. The framework is upholstered with contoured sheets of resilient, CFC-free polyurethane foam (density 75 kg/m3), covered with bonded plush and polyester wadding. The removable seat cushions, are available in two different options: completely in CFC-free polyurethane foam (density between 30 and 35 kg/m3); in feather (in the upper and frontal part of the cushion), and in CFC-free polyurethane foam (with density between 30 and 35 kg/m3) in the lower part of the cushion. The removable back cushions are completely feather filled. Moreover there is a back support in steel fixed to the frame. This back support and the steel base are available in two different finishes: varnished in eight colours with epoxy powder paint or chromed. The top of the low tables is available in two different finishes: chipboard covered in saddle leather; tempered supersilver crystal varnished white on its bottom.
The headboard of the bed is made of melamine coated panels, covered with sheets of resilient, CFC-free polyurethane foam (density 75 kg/m3 with the exception of the frontal part of the headboard that has a density of 30 kg/m3) covered with bonded plush and polyester wadding. The headboard is fixed on a frame in chromed steel tubular (where are integreted also the supports). On it is fixed again a steel frame varnished with epoxy power paint black colour where lean a wooden slatted base. All around this structure are fixed straps in saddle leather.
