Leave the decorative details to privilege simple shapes, clear, rational. So, paying tribute to the design language of the 40’s, Umberto Asnago designed the sofa Fusion. The light frame becomes the sign that define the project. The formal rigor is softened by two loose cushions that give comfort to the armrests. The expertise of i 4 Mariani in leather processing is expressed in the manufacturing of the sofa sides: two saddle leather sheets, stretched on a lightweight frame and fixed one to the other through a saddle leather cord that passes them from side to side in a kind of embroidery.

The model is available covered in leather or in fabric (with removable covers); the armrest instead must be covered in leather or saddle leather with a decorative leather string (available in white, black, dark brown, beige, natural, blue, green and red colours). The base is made of tubular steel black chromed with a PVC foot covered in leather or saddle leather. Other finishes available only on request.

The load-bearing frame is constructed of poplar heartwood with additional connecting elements in poplar plywood. Dap joints unite the various parts of the frame with securing cylindrical dowels. The seat webbing consists of elastic polypropylene and natural latex belts in two sizes and elasticity. The frame is upholstered with contoured sheets of resilient, CFC-free polyurethane foam with density between 30 and 35 kg/m3, covered with bonded plush. The removable seat cushions are subdivided into three horizontal units. The central unit is made in polyurethane foam with density of 40 kg/m3, while the two outside units are feather-filled.
