DE SYMETRIA
design Luca Scacchetti, 2010
A collection that owes its inspiration to serene rests on a hammock looking up towards the top of maritime pines where thin and bare branches support flat tables of compact greenery or to imaginary waiters, worthy of a musical, who without hesitation with their hand open and the fingers pointing upwards hold crystal trays in perfect balance.
All played on bases on which two brackets, tree-stirrup or hand-stirrup, in steel and with spokes of different lengths, which support transparent surfaces, partially engraved with soft or saddle leather strips, for greater comfort in support, rest symmetrically . The result is a system substantially built as a bridge or easle, very architectural and entirely based on the static and compositional balance determined by symmetry.
The shape and mass of the bases covered as desired in wood, soft or saddle leather or even in lacquered glass, contrasts with the lightness of the brackets and tops. The transparencies and these “open hands” in steel become the characterizing feature of the collection. The same relationship between the trunk and the top of the tree, between the body and the hand outstretched like a ray, is recreated here with a few essential lines, which doubled like a mirror, create De Symetria.
